Vietjet, a Vietnamese airline, which is infamously called the ‘Bikini Airline’, has announced its plans of staring services to India very soon. The airline is infamous for the use of bikini-clad flight attendants and pilots.

Started in Vietnam in 2011, Vietjet became the country’s second largest airline in no time, all thanks to the free publicity it gained due to the use of bikini-clad air hostesses. The airlines’ founder, female billionaire entrepreneur Nguyen Thi Phung Thao, became the country’s second richest person, after starting this airline.

The company has a fleet of 55 A320 and A321 aircrafts, and runs 385 flights on 82 domestic and international routes. VietJet currently commands 40 per cent of Vietnam’s domestic market and is likely to become the country’s biggest domestic carrier very soon.

Vietjet came under great heat for its on-board fashion shows which featured models in bikinis, swimsuits, walking down the aisle. The airline also publishes an annual calendar featuring bikini-clad models, flight attendants and ground staff.

The low cost airline has announced direct flights between New Delhi and Ho Chi Minh City. Four flights per week will be started in July this year. Plans are also being considered for expanding operations to other Indian cities based on the initial response
