HC’s rude shock to KCR government again!

The expulsion of two Congress MLAs – Komatireddy Venkat Reddy from Nalgonda and S A Sampath Kumar from Alampur into the state legislative assembly for their alleged misbehaviour in the House during the Governor’s speech in March this year, continues to haunt the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government.

While TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is hell bent on preventing the re-entry of the two expelled Congress MLAs, the Hyderabad high court continues to give him rude shocks for not honouring the court direction.

Even as a division bench is yet to hear the TRS government’s appeal against restoration of the assembly membership of Komatireddy and Sampath, the single judge bench on Tuesday served a show-cause notice on Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhanachary for contempt of court in not honouring its judgement given in the past.

It also served notices on law secretary V Niranjan Rao and assembly secretary V Narasimha Charyulu for deliberately delaying the implementation of the earlier order to restore the membership of the two MLAs. They were asked to personally appear before the court on September 17.Besides, the court also sent notices to the superintendents of police of Nalgonda and Gadwal districts for not restoring the gunmen to the two MLAs and posted the case to August 28.

The court action comes within 24 hours of KCR saying that the courts have no jurisdiction to inquire into the decisions of the state legislature to expel the two MLAs. In a way, it is a big shock to the KCR government!
