Dil Raju reveals story behind Family Star title

Posted : March 23, 2024 at 11:59 am IST by ManaTeluguMovies

The Telugu Film Journalist Association recently celebrated its 20th anniversary with much enthusiasm and joy. Among the distinguished guests was renowned film producer Dil Raju, who graced the occasion with his presence. During the event, Dil Raju shared insights into his upcoming project, Family Star.

Explaining the concept behind the movie’s title, Dil Raju clarified that “Family Star” doesn’t solely refer to a particular actor like Vijay Deverakonda, as some might have assumed. Instead, it embodies the spirit of individuals who tirelessly strive to uphold their family’s honor and contribute positively to society.

Speaking at the event, he said, “When we announced the movie title as ‘Family Star,’ many people thought we were going to showcase Vijay Deverakonda as the star. However, that’s not our intention. Our aim is to highlight any individual who strives for their family’s well-being and works hard to maintain their family’s reputation in society. Such individuals are what we consider ‘Family Stars.’ Even myself, along with Srinivas Reddy Garu and Narayana Murthy Garu who are present here, started from very humble beginnings. We worked diligently and earned a good reputation in the industry, thus making our families respected in society. That’s why we all can be regarded as ‘Family Stars’.”

“Family Star” reunites Vijay Deverakonda and director Parasuram after their successful collaboration in “Geetha Govindam.” The film also features Rashmika Mandanna in a special cameo role, adding to the excitement surrounding its release.

The recently released first single, “Nandanandanaa,” has already garnered attention, with music director Gopi Sundar delivering yet another melodious track. Produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, the movie boasts a talented technical crew, including cinematographer KU Mohanan and editor Marthand K Venkatesh.

Director Parasuram, known for his previous work in “Sarkaru Vaari Paata,” is set to deliver another entertaining film with “Family Star.” Meanwhile, audiences eagerly anticipate Vijay Deverakonda’s performance following his recent success in “Kushi.”

With a slated release date of April 5, “Family Star” promises to be an engaging cinematic experience, blending heartfelt storytelling with compelling performances. As fans eagerly await its theatrical release, anticipation continues to build for what is sure to be another memorable addition to Telugu cinema.

YVS Chowdary: A Director’s Potential Return to Tollywood Glory

Posted : March 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm IST by ManaTeluguMovies

YVS Chowdary was once a titan of Telugu cinema, reigning supreme in the 2000s. Films like “Laahiri Laahiri Laahirilo,” “Seetayya,” and the iconic “Devadasu” established him as a brand synonymous with grand visuals and captivating narratives. However, his golden touch seemingly vanished with the extravagant production “Okka Magadu” in 2007. Despite immense hype, the film met with disastrous results, marking a turning point in his career.

Subsequent attempts at revival with “Saleem” and “Rey” proved unsuccessful, mirroring the fate of his production venture “Nippu” starring Ravi Teja. This string of failures led Chowdary to step away from directing for nearly a decade.

Yet, whispers of a comeback are stirring within the Tollywood industry. Rumors suggest a potential return to form, with Chowdary at the helm, launching a new hero – none other than the grandson of the legendary Nandamuri Harikrishna.

The proposed hero is the son of the late Janaki Ram, elder brother to actors Kalyan Ram and NTR Jr. This potential collaboration holds special significance considering Harikrishna’s four-film association with Chowdary, signifying a strong creative bond between them. Further strengthening this connection is Chowdary’s longstanding admiration for the Nandamuri family. Notably, NTR Sr.’s photo graces the opening and closing credits of every film produced under Chowdary’s “Bommarillu” banner. Additionally, his unwavering respect is evident in the annual newspaper advertisements he places to commemorate NTR Sr.’s birth and death anniversaries.

Chowdary’s legacy as a hitmaker who launched the careers of Ram Pothineni and Sai Dharam Tej precedes him. If these rumors hold weight, Tollywood could witness a fascinating new chapter unfold – the return of a celebrated director, potentially shaping the debut of a new star. Only time will tell if this collaboration comes to fruition and ushers in a triumphant return for YVS Chowdary.
