The banner story published by Sakshi on Monday reflects the sorry state of affairs in the state financial position and has apparently been written to explain to the people how the government is struggling to the crippled financial position of the state back on tracks.

According to the story, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is keen on implementing his Nava Ratnas (nine promises) in letter and spirit, is planning to ask the Central government to write off all the loans granted by it to the Centre to bail the state out of financial crisis.

Jagan is planning to put forth the request before 15th finance commission members who would be visiting the state on December 18, 19 and 20.

Apart from waiver of central loans, Jagan is going to demand devolution of 50 per cent funds in the central revenue to the states, besides offsetting the revenue loss incurred by the state due to implementation of prohibition in a phased manner.

Sakshi also carried a second lead story on the crucial bills to be introduced by the state government in the assembly on Monday and Tuesday.

These bills include constitution of SC/ST commissions, setting up of separate boards for millets and pulses, merger of RTC with the state government and stringent measures being taken for implementation of prohibition.

For Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy, the ongoing agitations across the country over passage of controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill by Parliament. The agitations have now spread to Delhi, which witnessed large scale violence.

Interestingly, there are contradictory reports on the same topic in Eenadu and Sakshi — it is on SC welfare residential schools (SC Gurukulams).

While Eenadu carried a negative story on the lack of facilities in the hostels of these residential schools, Sakshi focussed on providing high technology education to student by setting up virtual class rooms.

As has been its stand, Andhra Jyothy has carried two major negative stories: one, on over-enthusiasm of some IAS officers who are blindly implementing the orders given by the Jagan government without understanding its legal implications; other one on huge delay in recruitment of teachers through district selection boards, though the notification was issued more than a year ago.

It also published the alleged protests made by Kapu leaders at a meeting in Kakinada, where they protested the presence of YSR Congress parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy. Obviously, it was aimed at embarrassing Sai Reddy.
