Senior IAS official and Telangana State Principal Secretary to the Labour Department Shashank Goel’s son Shubham Goel was reportedly killed by a group of armed robbers in Turkey. The 24 year old victim along with his friend was on holiday trip in Istanbul when the incident happened.

Shubham was working as software engineer in America. He came to India to attend a wedding ceremony in April last week. Before leaving to USA, he flown to Turkey along with his friend Subhanshu on a short holiday trip.

Reports says that Shubham and his friend confronted by a group of armed robbers who demanded to hand over cash and other valuables they were carrying to them. Subhanshu gave all his belongings to the robbers. When Shubham refused to do so, the robbers attacked and shot him resulting in his death instantly.

The IAS official immediately rushed to New Delhi. With the help of External Affairs ministry, the body was brought to Delhi and shift to the native place of Roorkee in Uttarkhand and the last rights were performed.
