TDP’s senior leader and MLC Babu Rajendra Prasad have fumed over Tollywood actors, heroes who are not voicing their support to the state’s fight for Special Category Status against the Centre. In a blistering attack against mana heroes, Rajendra Prasad questioned, “Our heroes cry only for awards? But they don’t voice their support for Special Status? Even the Telangana state CM, his family have extended their support for AP in the issue of Special Category Status. What about Tollywood actors? They only come out when they don’t get an award?”
Rajendra Prasad has ripped Telugu stars apart and told them to learn from their counterparts in Tamil where Tamil actors, stars always stand by their people in the tough times. “Even in the issue of Jallikattu, Kollywood supported the sentiment of Tamil people and supported their cause,” Rajendra Prasad reminded them.
He didn’t stop there. He haven’t spared anyone either. Rajendra Prasad has questioned that how many of Telugu stars even visit Amaravati or the new state and spend their time here for a day or some days. Indicating that Tollywood stars only want collections from Andhra Pradesh but don’t want to support their people, their cause, Rajendra Prasad has given an ultimatum to the Tollywood actors to join the fight for the Special Category Status at least now. He even threatened to ban the films if the actors won’t come in the support of the Special Category Status.
Since actors voice and their opinions have huge impact and influences large people thus bringing more pressure on the Centre, the stoic silence of Tollywood on the Special Category Status is not going down well with many. Looks like, Tollywood will face more difficulty in the coming days if it won’t respond now.
