It happened in the Tirunelveli district of Tamilnadu where an elderly couple was attacked by two sickle wielding robbers, but the couple has fought off quite bravely with slippers and chairs and made the robbers flee.

In the video which has gone viral on social media, 70-year-old Shanmugavel who is sitting in the veranda of his house was first attacked by a masked robber who tried to strangulate the old man with a towel. As he is fighting valiantly with the robber, his wife Senthamarai entered the scene, attacking the robber with chappals and plastic stool.

As they are fighting one robber, another one entered the scene and tried to attack them with the blade they are wielding. But Senthamarai has refused to slow down and started hurling whatever object she finds at him. And Shanmugavel continued his fight with a broken plastic leg of a chair.

With the resistance of elderly couple at peaks, both the robbers had no option than fleeing the scene. All this was recorded on the CC TV in the veranda of their house. Police have registered an FIR but no suspects are caught so far.
