Will the BJP go hammer and tongs with Hindutwa plank in Telangana? The appointment of hardliner MP from Karimnagar, Bandi Sanjay, as the state BJP president is indication that the party will actively work on the Hindutwa factor.
The party, it appears, wants to play the Hindutwa card especially in view of the TRS pandering to the communal MIM. The TRS has been making several statements that appear to be appeasing the minority voters and the MIM. The importance that Asaduddin and Akbaruddin Owaisi are getting under the KCR dispensation is also piquing the Hindu voters. The BJP now wants to capitalise on this and go ahead with the Hindutwa issue. In the recent municipal elections, the BJP did very well in places where communal friction existed. It did well in Adilabad, Karimnagar and Nizamabad.

So, expect very strong counters to the TRS and exhortations to protect the interests of the Hindus in the coming days. And Bandi Sanjay is known for his Hindutwa brand. His rise in Karimnagar is mostly due to his Hindutwa image.
