It is quite common for heroes to have bad phases in their careers. Currently, the Akkineni heroes are going through such a period. King Nagarjuna arrived with ‘Ghost’ during the Dasara season of 2022. This action flick which was directed by Praveen Sattaru turned out to be a disaster. It did not get good collections and the talk wasn’t encouraging too.

Last year, Naga Chaitanya arrived with a slice-of-life drama named ‘Thank You’. Dil Raju produced it while Vikram Kumar directed this movie. It ended up being a big failure. Dil Raju lost a lot of money and Vikram Kumar is yet to start his new project. Now, young hero Akkineni Akhil too bagged a huge flop in the form of ‘Agent’.

Directed by Surender Reddy, this high-budget spy thriller was released on 28th April and the talk was very negative since the premiere shows. They thought of releasing the movie on a pan-Indian level but restricted it to two languages due to lack of time. The movie is termed a disaster right after the morning shows. In this way, Dad and his two sons have bagged a disaster each.

The producers of these three movies have lost a lot of money. These flicks were made on a budget that was more than the market value of the Akkineni heroes and they failed to generate enough buzz as well. With the wrong script selection and execution, the movies ended up as huge debacles. The Akkineni heroes have to be very careful with their next projects. Naga Chaitanya is arriving with ‘Custody’ in May while Nagarjuna is expected to work with Prasanna Kumar Bezawada. Akhil is yet to select his next movie. Let us hope that they get back on the success track soon.
