Having kept his silence on the issue all these days, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had finally opened up on the issue reportedly. Taking a question on the issue, the troubleshooter for the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) gave his take on the controversy.
As per the reports, Amit Shah is said to have spoken in favor of following the uniformity at the educational institutions as education is more important than religion.
While giving his opinion that the uniforms mentioned by the schools should be followed, Amit Shah said that the issue is pending with the court, and whatever the verdict, the court gives, we have to follow it.
“My personal belief will remain personal only till the court delivers its verdict on the issue. Once the court gives its verdict, then I should also accept it along with everybody else,” the serving Union Home Minister Amit Shah said.
Not stopping there, Amit Shah had hit out at the political parties for politicizing the matter and involving caste and religion in the matter. He said that the parties are diverting the issue and this needs to be stopped at the earliest.
Apparently, Amit Shah is the first big leader from the saffron party to speak on the issue. Though a few leaders have reacted to the issue, no big names from the Central ruling party responded to the issue.
The issue which made many heads turn handmade its way to the Karnataka High Court. The Court is hearing the arguments daily. The other day, two students sought directives from the court that they should be allowed to enter the campuses with Hijab. However, the court said no as a response.
Earlier, the Karnataka High Court said that no religious attire should be allowed while entering the campuses until further notice. This led to a few protests in the BJP-ruled state.
