Superstar Mahesh Babu and Srikantha Addala’s ‘Brahmotsavam’ ended up as a disaster at the box-office. According to the trade reports, exhibitors and buyers of ‘Brahmotsavam’ are likely to lose more than 60 percent of their money. After the release of Brahmotsavam, Mahesh Babu fans and movie lovers targeted Srikanth Addala and they started to troll him in the social platforms.
This is not the first time that a director is targeted after delivering a flop with a Star Hero. Srinu Vatla faced the same situation after ‘Aagadu’ and ‘Brucelee’. Nagarjuna made Veerabhadram a scapegoat after the debacle of ‘Bhai’.
To begin with, no producer will start a project without the Star Hero’s approval. Everyone believes in the script and that is how a project takes off.
However, if a film mints money at the box-office, Hero will get the maximum credit and if it fails, director has to take the blame. The latest reports says that Mahesh Babu took the entire blame for the failure of ‘Brahmotsavam’. If this is true, then Mahesh Babu should be appreciated for his professionalism. Majority of the moviegoers think that Success and Failure should be shared equally within the team.
