Former Kakinada MP and Kapu crusader Mudragada Padmanabham’s fast unto death demanding Kapu reservation has reached its 4th day today. The leader and his wife are continuing their fast at their residence in Kirlampudi, East Godavari district.
Meanwhile, Kapus from several areas are coming out in large numbers to express their solidarity with Mudragada’s deeksha. Several Kapu associations in AP and even in Delhi have carried out several rallies in support of Mudragada.
And today, Mudragada’sdeeksha will get a huge boost with Congress MP Chiranjeevi and veteran Congress leader and filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao visiting Mudragada in Kirlampudi to show their support to his mission.
Soon after the Tuni violence, Chiru wrote an open letter to AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu asking him to fulfill his election promise of including Kapus in BCs. Chiru’s meeting with Mudragada will also be detrimental to his sagging political career in the coming future.
On the other hand, Dasari, who hails from the same community, has been voicing his support to the Kapu reservation demand since the beginning of the agitation. We will have to wait to see if Chiru, Dasari’s support will result in any rise in the intensity of the protests.
