The mayor of the biggest city in the Telugu states is landing into controversies once too often. GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi is reported to be making more enemies than she is making friends. Her arbitrary working style is leading to tricky situations with party MLAs, corporators and even top officials throwing up their hands in despair.

It is being reported that a senior IPS officer is said to have been greatly upset at her abrasive dealing. He is said to have lodged a complaint with TRS working president KTR.

Several party corporators and even MLAs in the GHMC area are said to be upset with her. She is said to be taking up tours of various constituencies without keeping the local MLAs and the corporators in the loop.

Also, she is said to be insisting that no inaugurations should be planned without her presence. When a couple of inaugurations were planned in Serilingampalli and Qutbullahpur assembly constituencies, she reportedly flew into a rage and has even sent notices to the officials. Reports also say that she has quite a frosty relationship with GHMC municipal commissioner Lokesh Kumar.

Gadwal Vijayalakshmi was made the mayor of the GHMC due to her father and senior politician KK’s proximity with KCR. Sources say that her relations with KTR too are frosty.

In fact, he took her own sweet time to meet KTR after getting elected as the mayor. Sources say that if the same trend continues and if Gadwal Vijayalakshmi is not reined in, the TRS would face lost of problems in the GHMC area.
