Telugu girl Anjali, who sizzled in films like Journey, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, and Masala, has thrown a bombshell. Anjali who acted in handful of films till date is now eyeing to do women-centric films. She will be doing full-fledged female-oriented role in her forthcoming film Geethanjali. What’s more? The film is said to be a horror comedy and will be directed by necomer Raj Kiran.
Even top heroines like Trisha, Charmi, Priyamani who tested waters in doing these films were hardly successfull in image-makeover. In turn, the careers of Charmi, Priyamani tumbled after shunning glam roles. Even though Anushka Shetty’s Arundhati was blockbuster her very next Panchakshari turned out to be flop. Nayantara is coming out with Anamika, remake of Vidya Balan’s Kahani. Only very few actresses like Ramya Krishna, Soundarya are an exception to this trend who reigned in women-centric films.
Coming to Anjali she was hardly seen in glam roles except for a hot item number in Surya’s Singham 2. Besides playing second fiddle roles, she was not even successful as top heroine.
