Mega Food Park: Pawan’s New Political Mission

pawanAfter creating a minor political storm with a couple of public meetings over special status issue a month ago, film star and president of Jana Sena Party Pawan Kalyan is back to movies and is busy shooting for Katamarayudu.

But now, Pawan has a new political mission – help out the victims of the Godavari Aqua Mega Food Park which is under construction in Bhimavaram. Yesterday, several victims from the villages of Bethapudi, Thundurru, Kamsali and Jonnalagaruvu met Pawan in Hyderabad and pleaded his support.

These villagers, who had already submitted their appeal Pawan during Kakinada meeting, lamented that at least 30 nearby villages are under the threat of pollution once the project is completed and that small and midscale fisheries businessmen are staring at huge losses as their fishing canals are not yielding good amount of fish due to water pollution.

The worried villagers further lamented that neither the government not the people behind this mega project are concerned about their plight and that the police are arresting those who are protesting and sought Pawan’s intervention in the matter.

Listening to the villagers’ woes, Pawan assured them his complete support and told them that Jana Sena supports industrial development but not at the cost of villagers and common people. The Jana Sena chief further told them that he has been consulting environmental experts and government officials to find a solution to their problems.
