For allegedly insulting the sentiments of Goud caste, who were used to earn livelihood by selling ‘kallu’ in villages, police have booked ‘Jabardasth’ comedian Venu.
Leaders from Goud caste accused that Venu has portrayed ‘kallu’ selling Goud woman in bad light in his show and demanded his arrest. Acting on the issue, police registered cases on Venu under 323 and 506 sections of IPC.
At the same time, cases were also lodged on Goud caste leaders who attacked Venu earlier on Sunday and beating him to bleed.
While Venu is undergoing treatment at Apollo hospital, one of the persons responsible for the arrest is taken into custody already
