Politicisation of education is nothing new in India and people of Telangana had first hand experience of what to come in future. 8th class students in a school in Medak were shocked to see a question in their quarterly exams asking them to explain the role played by Telangaan CM KCR in Telangana formation.
Incidentally Medak happens to be KCR’s own constituency. The examiners tried equating KCR with Mahatma Gandhi when they clubbed two questions.
Following is the optional question.
Explain the role of our CM K Chandrasekhar Rao in the formation of
Telangana state?
or
Explain the role of Gandhiji in Indian National Movement?
Shocked students couldn’t answer the question. To the top of it they got another current shock when they were asked to provide solution to the ongoing power crisis in the state.
The question ran What advise do you suggest to overcome the power
crisis in our state?
Earlier another question appeared which sought measures on developing the new state of Telangana into a golden state of Telangana.
All these appeared in last month Social Studies paper and carries 10 marks each.
