Senior Congress leader and former Minister P Shankar Rao today has hit out at Home Minister of Telangana, Naini Narasimha Reddy for his comments over statues on Tankbund.
Reacting sharply to Naini’s comments, Shankar Rao said that the statues installed on the Tankbund are that of ‘Telugu’ legends and they should not be categorised into representatives of Andhra or Telangana.
Shankar Rao further added that when these statues were installed, the intent was to showcase Telugu pride and its cultural heritage; and not to highlight representatives of Andhra.
It is a known fact that Home Minister of Telangana, Naini Narasimha Reddy on Sunday said that the Telangana Government will remove all statues from Tankbund that belong to Andhra legends.
