TDP’s Internal Survey

TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu who ruled as CM for a record period surprised even his party leaders & cadre by going all the way to the residence of Actor-turned-Politician Pawan Kalyan to seek his support for TDP-BJP alliance in Seemandhra & Telangana. Does the fear of defeat prompted Babu to do so or Pawan really have such stature? Why didn’t he rely on star campaigners (Balayya, NTR) within the party?

As per the Internal Survey (TDP: 83-85 seats; YSR Congress: 73-75 seats; Congress: 5 seats; Others: 7-10 seats), TDP is just marginally ahead of YSR Congress in Seemandhra and hence even less than 5% swing in favor of it could make a huge difference. So, Naidu decided to bank heavily on Pawan Kalyan who is the latest sensation in political circles and the one who commands immense repeat from the people due to his ideologies, lifestyle and the zeal to serve the Nation without craving for power.

Political Observers say, Chandrababu Naidu is well aware of the fact that both Balayya and NTR are just crowd pullers but how much their support/campaign would benefit the party is always a mystery as Nandamuri Fans and TDP Cadre always go hand-in-hand. When it comes to Pawan’s case, His support could bring a section of people irrespective of caste and creed close to TDP and this crossover could make a big difference.
