As per the exit polls conducted by a reputed agency, TDP-BJP alliance ruined the chances of TRS to form the first government in India’s 29th state Telangana. Surprisingly, Congress performed better than TRS to emerge as the single largest party in both Assembly and Lok Sabha polls

Congress – 45 seats.
TRS – 36 seats
TDP-BJP – 27 seats
MIM – 6 seats
CPI – 3 seats
Others – 2 seats
Lok Sabha (17 seats):
Congress – 7 seats (Adilabad – Naresh Jadhav, Peddpalli – G Vivek, Mahbubnagar – Jaipal Reddy, Nagar Kurnool – Nandi Yellaiah, Nalgonda – G Sudhakar Reddy, Bhuvanagiri – K Rajagopal Reddy, Mahabubabad – Balram Naik)
TRS – 5 seats (Medak – KCR, Nizamabad – Kavitha, Warangal – Kadiam Srihari, Karimnagar – B Vinod Kumar, Zaheerabad – BV Patil)
TDP-BJP – 4 seats (Malkajgiri – Malla Reddy, Khammam – Nama Nageswara Rao, Secunderabad – Bandaru Dattatreya, Chevella – Veerender Goud)
MIM – 1 seat (Hyderabad – Asaduddin Owaisi)
