Sivarama Krishnan Committee suggested that Vijayawada and Guntur not suitable for Capital for Andhra Pradesh but left the final decision to State Government. The only drawback for Capital between Vijayawada and Guntur is availability of lands. There are no Government lands and Forest lands available for the Capital on whole. But State Government thought in differently. CBN has committed to build new Capital between two districts. He was strongly argued that Capital city should be available to all 13 districts. As per sources, capital city should be on banks River Krishna.
There is only one Prakasam bridge that connects two districts. In 2008, Pulichitala was completed to connect Avanigadda to Repalle. Now Government has planned to construct three bridges across the River Krishna with latest designs. The first one constructed in between Nandigama and Acchmpet in Guntur district.
Second bridge proposed to construct between Kanchikacharla and Amravati in Guntur district. Permissions granted for third one which is from Gollapudi to Mangalagiri in Guntur district. By constructing new bridges Government has planned to utilize Government and forest lands in Acchhmpet and Amravati areas for new Capital.
