Konda has announced that he would keep away from the Congress party and its activities for about three months, after which he would announce his next move. This has set off furious debate about his political future. Sources say that there are two options for him. The first one is to straight away join the BJP and plunge headlong into the campaign against the TRS. The second option is to float a regional party and to join hands with the BjP as an alliance partner. This would give him some bargaining chips to deal with the BJP, sources say. As of now, Konda is keeping cards close to his chest and is not revealing anything.
Konda Vishweshwar Reddy joined active politics in 2014 and won as Chevella MP on a TRS ticket. However, in the later developments, he joined the Congress and lost from the Chevella MP constituency in 2019. Since then, he has been keeping a low profile in the party. On Monday, he has resigned from the Congress.
