Taking forward the great legacy left by her father, late YSR, YS Sharmila had recently ventured into politics. To try her luck in the political spectrum in Telangana, she launched her political outfit amid much fanfare. Despite getting a good start, Sharmila had to face a series of troubles.

Few of her political meetings were canceled earlier saying that permission to hold meetings was not taken. As a big blow to YS Sharmila, her application seeking the identification of her party as YSRTP has not been cleared and the chief election body Election Commission of India did not identify YSRTP.

The reason behind ECI not recognising YSRTP is believed to be the complaint raised by one Sheik Basha, who earlier asked the ECI to derecognize YSRCP’s name as he had already registered his political outfit name as Anna YSR party. Alleging that various outfits having a similar name would impact the vote percentage, he had approached the ECI.

The shocking development had reportedly made YS Sharmila unhappy and reacting to the political party name issue, she expressed severe dissatisfaction on the same and raised a topic of possible conspiracy to dent her political future.

The ECI not recognising YSRTP’s name came at the time when YS Sharmila has been protesting against the TRS government on various issues like unemployment and the recent Fever survey. It has to be seen what Sharmila does now.
