Like it is straight out of AR Murugadoss’s Kaththi movie, the city of Chennai is fighting with the extreme water crisis and many throats went dry. Both the politicians and the students have started conducting yagnams to please the gods for water.

It looks like their prayers are heard and rain god lashed with abundant rain on Wednesday evening. As the monsoon got deepened finally, many important regions of Chennai where water bodies are present, received huge rainfall. There were some isolated rains in Chennai in the last week but they are not enough to fill up the thirst of people.

And the slight delay of monsoon has affected the city big time we have to say as the authorities and political parties that are ruling the city lacked water management skills to make sure that no throat will go dry.

The heavy rains that lashed the city in the evening have not only clogged drains with the heavy flow on the roads, but they have also caused power outrage and severe traffic jams too. However, Chennai-walas are quite happy that finally they are going to relieve from the water crisis.

But the most important thing is- Is Chennai city harvesting the rain water? Only then, a future crisis could be averted.
