Left blames Pawan for election losses!

If at all there are any big opportunists in politics, they are Communists. The Left parties are known for changing their stand frequently and do not hesitate to join hands with the parties which were hitherto their bitter enemies.

All that they want is to win three or four assembly seats or MP seats and for that, they don’t hesitate to join hands with any party that suits their interests.

In Andhra, the CPI and CPI (M) had forged alliance with the Congress party in the past, dumped the same later and joined hands with the Telugu Desam Party. They backed Praja Rajyam Party for some time.

In the recent assembly elections, the Communist parties entered into an alliance with the Jana Sena Party headed by popular actor Pawan Kalyan, hoping that they could win a few seats to retain their identity. But the alliance failed miserably.

While Jana Sena could win just one seat, the Communists lost their deposits in all the places.

Now, they are blaming Pawan Kalyan for the loss in the elections.

On Wednesday, CPI state secretary M Nageshwar Rao alleged that Pawan had a secret understanding with TDP led by N Chandrababu Naidu and that led to the defeat of the alliance, as the people did not believe them.

“Chandrababu Naidu did not campaign for the TDP in Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram. Similarly, Pawan Kalyan did not campaign for Jana Sena in Mangalagiri and Kuppam. It clearly shows that Pawan and Naidu were hand in glove with each other,” he alleged.

One wonders why the Left parties did not raise the issue during the elections. Didn’t they know it during the elections that Pawan and Naidu were supporting each other? Why did the Communists keep quiet then?
