Megastar Chiranjeevi has appreciated the Andhra Pradesh government for bringing in ‘Disha Act’ which speeds up probe and trails in crime against women cases. In a press statement, Chiru said that this act will reinforce a confidence in the woman community.

“Disha incident has hurt everyone present in the society and many wanted justice at the earliest. Instead of early justice, immediate justice is the only solution. Andhra Pradesh government has laid its first step in doing it so and we all should welcome it,” said Chiru.
Further he added that by amending the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), the investigation which actually takes four months time, is brought down to 21 days and setting up FasTrack courts and other infrastructure is a good move.

Chiru also applauded the government’s decision on social media. “By inducting social media abusive comments against woman under IPC is great initiative. By doing so people who would want to use filthy language against woman and sexually harass children, should think of these severe punishments as per the law and fear should knock the culprits mind. I whole-heartedly congratulate the state government,” concluded Chiru.
