Posted : July 2, 2024 at 2:06 pm IST by ManaTeluguMovies

In a unique turn of tables, the upcoming Indian action film “Kill” is poised to receive a Hollywood remake helmed by none other than Chad Stahelski, the director behind the acclaimed “John Wick” franchise.

This development marks a significant moment for Indian cinema, with a domestic production inspiring a Hollywood reimagining even before its official release.

Written and directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, “Kill” is slated for an Indian theatrical release on July 5th, 2024. The film boasts the backing of prominent production houses Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain serving as producers. Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, and Tanya Maniktala take on the lead roles in this action-packed story.

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) synopsis for “Kill” provides a glimpse into the film’s intense premise: A train bound for New Delhi transforms into a brutal battlefield as two commandos confront a formidable force of 40 bandits in a close-quarter combat showdown.

News of the remake emerged after Chad Stahelski expressed his admiration for “Kill,” calling it “one of the most vivid, wild, and creative action movies” he’s recently encountered. Stahelski, through his production company 87Eleven Entertainment, will spearhead the English-language version.

“We have big shoes to fill,” Stahelski acknowledged, expressing his enthusiasm for collaborating with the original film’s team to craft a worthy adaptation.

The official announcement of the remake came through a joint statement by Lionsgate Motion Picture Group and the producers of the original film. Lionsgate, known for its genre-defining action movies, is a significant addition to the project.

The producers expressed their gratification at partnering with Lionsgate and highlighted the unprecedented nature of this pre-release remake announcement, viewing it as a major win for Indian cinema.

This collaboration between Indian and Hollywood filmmakers signifies a potential bridge between the two industries. With an acclaimed director like Stahelski at the helm, the Hollywood remake of “Kill” has the potential to introduce a unique Indian action story to a wider global audience.
