The letter written by IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy reportedly disappeared.
The Chief Minister’s Office on Saturday took a decision to extend legal aid to four of the six ministers to whom Supreme Court had issued notices on the issuance of 26 controversial GOs. While the government has decided to extend legal aid to four ministers Kanna Lakshmi Narayana, Geeta Reddy, Sabita Indra Reddy and Dharmana Prasada Rao, no decision was taken with regard to the jailed former minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana and IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah.
It is learnt that giving legal assistance to Mopidevi Venkata Ramana was against the law as he was already arrested by the CBI. However, why the government has not taken decision on provision of legal aid to Ponnala Lakshmaiah intrigued every one, including the minister. Later, it was found that the letter written by Ponnala has disappeared from the CMO. The CMO has stated that it did not receive Ponnala’s letter. It was said that this was the reason why the CMO has not taken a decision on Ponnala. The Chief Minister might take a decision to provide legal aid to Ponnala also after obtaining a fresh letter from the minister.
