Ranbir Kapoor’s Sister Speaks Out on Pushpa Violence!
Cinema, like a mirror, reflects the evolving tastes of its audience, capturing both art and chaos. In a recent discussion, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, sister of Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor and a prominent entrepreneur, shared her thoughts on violence in films like Pushpa and Animal. Known for her graceful presence on Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, Riddhima found herself addressing a cinematic debate that juxtaposed modern trends with timeless legacies.
During a lively Q&A session, an audience member brought up the illustrious legacy of her grandfather, the legendary Raj Kapoor, who was known for films addressing social issues. They posed a thought-provoking question: Would today’s cinema, often dominated by intense action and violence, align with his vision? The conversation steered towards contrasting classic storytelling with films like Pushpa and Animal, questioning the impact of the changing audience preferences.
Riddhima responded thoughtfully, acknowledging the diverse tastes of today’s viewers. “There’s a segment of the audience that enjoys these films,” she remarked, emphasizing that if her grandfather were alive, his creations would undoubtedly carry the same timeless elegance but perhaps resonate differently in today’s world. Her nuanced answer highlighted the balance between honoring cinematic traditions and adapting to the contemporary palate.
Closing the session on a light note, Riddhima quipped, “If Dadaji were around, I’d probably still be answering questions about why his movies never had sequel plans!” A touch of humor and nostalgia left the audience smiling, as Riddhima gracefully bridged the past and present of Indian cinema.
