When Telangana CM KCR comments threatened media that he will bury them ten feet deep inside if they don’t salute them, entire national media denounced his dictatorial behavior. Even Press Council asked KCR to lift the ban on two channels. However Telangana Government washed off their hands saying they cannot do anything and the decision was taken by Telangana MSOs. 

Few days ago, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javdekar warned of strong action against Telangana MSOs who blocked the two channels TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyothy, when media persons and reporters of various channels met him.

TRS objected to Prakash Javdekar’s threats and questioned ‘who started the ban’ and cited that AP cable operators first banned V6 channel during Telangana movement. They said Javdekar was unaware of V6 ban and even burning of Telangana papers Namaste Telangana and others. 

But even after Union Minister’s warning Telananga MSOs remained adamant. Many are wondering why Union Minister is not acting and questioning whether he is scared of Telangana Govt. They say inaction is sending wrong signals across the country and else where others too get emboldened by these acts to crush media freedom.
