Tollywood hero Akhil Akkineni had a pretty disappointing start to his career.
Three consecutive flops have put him in a spot and he is hoping to come out of the hole with Most Eligible Bachelor bankrolled by GA2 Pictures.
Akhil made his debut under star director Vinayak and his second film was directed by Vikram Kumar, who is also a sought after director.
Akhil then worked with a young director for his third film and is now working with Bhaskar, who is back to wielding megaphone after a hiatus.
Most Eligible Bachelor is being made on a reasonable budget to ensure success for Akhil. The film will resume its shoot from mid-September and is aiming for a theatrical release.
At this juncture, Akhil got an opportunity to work with Surender, who usually prefers to working with big stars. This is a great opportunity for Akhil to get into the next league of stars.
However, Surender’s films are made on a high budget and Akhil hasn’t proved his mettle at the box office yet.
Surender is yet to find a producer who is willing to spend Rs 40 Cr on an Akhil starrer.
Strangely, Nagarjuna is not keen on bankrolling this project. Nagarjuna looked to rope in big directors like Trivikram and Koratala Siva for Akhil before Hello.
Wonder why he is not showing interest in backing Surender’s project.
