There are many star music composers over the last couple of decades who ruled the roost in South India. Mani Sharma, AR Rahman, Devi Sri Prasad, Harris Jayaraj, Yuvan Shankar Raja and others occupied the top spot in South India for a certain period of time in their careers. While some of them have slowly reduced the number of films, a few others are slowly fading away. Coming to the current times, there is only one music composer who comes to our mind when we think of the number one position in South India.
He is definitely Anirudh Ravichander. The young sensation came to the film industry in 2012 and created a storm right with his first song ‘Kolaveri Di’. It was a sensation at that time and became internationally famous. The whole album of ‘3’ is still a favourite for many. After some hit compositions, he entered the star league within no time. He has given music for every star Tamil hero starting from Rajnikanth to Siva Karthikeyan. Anirudh gave super hit tunes for Pawan too and is currently working on #NTR30.
He is the best in the present generation according to many. The star composer is not just known for one genre of songs. He comes up with super romantic tracks, peppy party numbers, emotional songs and chartbuster mass music. Apart from his wonderful tunes, Anirudh is also known for his terrific background scores. He does complete justice to every film whether it is a star hero project or a small hero film. His BGMs for star hero movies made the masses go wild in theatres and turned people emotional in movies like ‘Jersey’, ‘Raghuvaran btech’ and others.
He is in golden form at the moment and everything he touches is turning into gold. In the span of two months, Anirudh gave music for four movies which are ‘Beast’, ‘KRK’, ‘Don’ and ‘Vikram’. While ‘Vikram’ and ‘Beast’ were big hero films, ‘KRK’ and ‘Don’ were entertainers. This shows his versatility and while some movies may flop, his music never failed. Especially his ‘Vikram’ is being praised by everyone. He gave super tunes and came up with stupendous background scores for each main character which is quite unique. He is miles ahead of his competitors like Thaman, DSP and others. He is composing music for Rajnikanth’s upcoming film, Vijay’s next, NTR’s project and making his debut in Bollywood with an SRK film which explains a lot of about his talent.
