Concerned over the negative publicity being given to the NDA over the ‘Land Acquisition Bill’, PM Narendra Modi said that an awareness drive should be taken up among farmers to convince them that the BJP was not ‘anti-farmer’.

Nevertheless the Communist Parties are going all out in their criticism of Modi government.

“There is absolutely no difference in the functioning of the UPA or NDA. Under the UPA, if Reliance was given a free hand to loot the nation, under Modi, it is Adani who is ruling the roost. Farmers are at the mercy of these autocratic regimes and agriculture itself is in serious threat of being wiped out, under them,” said the CPI in a statement.

“This is just the East India Company operating under an Indian government. The scale of corruption and plunder of public money has surpassed even the wildest of estimates,” they added.
