Nayanatara is one of the few South heroines who have proved to be a crowd puller. Nayan’s presence can assure of decent openings and that is the reason why many low budget movie producers are signing up Nayanatara despite her hefty paycheck. Nayanatara scored a hat-trick of hits in Tamil cinema last year.

All the three that Nayantara featured in were small or medium budget movies. Buyers believe in her choice of films and even the film lovers believe that she doesn’t take up nonsensical scripts. Nayantara’s Maya was dubbed into Telugu as Mayuri and did very well. So a smalltime producer has acquired the dubbing rights of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in which Nayantara played the female lead.

Vijay Sethupathi of Pizza fame is the hero in this Tamil film. It is directed by Nayan’s present boy friend Vignesh Shivan. Although Nayan played the role of a typical heroine in this film, the dubbing rights holders were promoting this as a heroine oriented movie.

There is no sign of Vijay on the first poster of Nenu Rowdyne, not even a stamp size picture of the hero on it! Even the title logo has Nayan’s image in it. This is a great example for Nayan’s craze and popularity.
