We all know the level of expectations which are being carried by Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming movie ‘Animal’. Despite being a Bollywood film featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, the movie generated a lot of buzz in the South too and people are keen to see what Sandeep readied after a game changer like ‘Arjun Reddy’. Trade pundits are expecting some record-breaking numbers on the first day.
With just one month left for its release, a rumor on social media regarding this film surfaced on the internet. It claimed that the runtime of ‘Animal’ is 210 minutes and the makers decided to go ahead with the same length without chopping anything. While movies like ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ had huge runtimes, not a single film in the past decade had such a long duration in Hindi.
Barring films like ‘RRR’, people are not able to sit through a 3-hour movie these days. There is a big discussion about the movie having two intervals. But sources close to the ‘Animal’ team made it clear that there is no truth behind this news and the makers are yet to lock the final runtime. Apparently, the correct duration will be decided just two weeks before the release.
As we are aware, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s first film ‘Arjun Reddy’ had three and half hours runtime initially but it was edited into a three-hour film prior to the release due to the pressure from distributors. While the length of ‘Animal’ is going to be around three hours, it is not going to extend more than that as the distributors may have the same problem once again. With Rashmika as the heroine and Anil Kapoor as Ranbir’s father, we need to wait and see how ‘Animal’ turns out to be on 1st December.
