Nag Ashwin has established himself as a force to be reckoned with in Tollywood. Despite having only two films to his credit, both “Yevade Subramanyam” and “Mahanati,” his unique storytelling and masterful direction have garnered him immense praise and commercial success. These critically acclaimed projects, produced under the banners of Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema helmed by Ashwini Dutt and his daughters Swapna & Priyanka, have solidified Ashwin’s reputation as a director with exceptional talent and vision.

Ashwin’s trajectory continues its upward climb with his current project, the epic science-fiction film “Kalki 2898 AD.” This ambitious venture, starring Prabhas in the lead role, promises to be one of the biggest cinematic undertakings in Indian history. Mounted on a colossal budget exceeding ₹500 crore, the film is being produced by Ashwini Dutt and his daughters, marking their unwavering trust in Ashwin’s capabilities. The narrative is so grand that it will be divided into two parts, with the first installment slated for release in the coming months.

Interestingly, Ashwin has opted to forego a traditional director’s salary for “Kalki 2898 AD.” Instead, he has a profit-sharing agreement with the producers. Rajamouli.

Ashwin’s decision to continue working under his wife Priyanka Dutt’s and father-in-law Ashwini Dutt’s production house despite lucrative offers from other banners speaks volumes about his loyalty and dedication.
