Controversial self-styled god man Nithyananda, facing trial in a rape case, has been directed by the Supreme Court to undergo all medical tests, including the potency test.

The self-styled godman had appealed against the Karnataka High Court order that he  had no option but to take the potency test. The rape case was registered against him in a court in Bangalore but the godman had pleaded that he was impotent and he was falsely charged.

Nithyananda’s lawyers had argued that he should not be compelled to undergo the medical test and had submitted a list of pleas by prominent citizens who were all his followers. But the court rejected his appeal in view of the criminal aspect of his case.
