When the advance bookings opened for Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, the initial response appeared somewhat slow. However, the film experienced a remarkable surge in North American box office sales post-release.
In comparison, Devara grossed $6,078,545, making it the sixth highest-grossing Telugu film ever and NTR’s second-best career hit after Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava. The film proved to be a profitable venture for all parties involved in the U.S. and Canada.
Surprisingly, Pushpa 2: The Rule matched Devara’s entire North American gross within just three days of its release. By Friday, it had already surpassed Devara’s full-run collections.
While the two films aren’t directly comparable since Pushpa 2 benefits from being a sequel this performance underscores the massive box-office dominance of Allu Arjun’s latest blockbuster.
Directed by Koratala Siva, Jahnvi Kapoor made her debut with the film. The film unit will soon focus on coming up with the second part as well. The movie is produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts collectively.
