There is no denying the fact that Tollywood is one of the most lucrative film industries in all of India. The kind of privileges that our superstars enjoy our on par with any other big league superstar from Indian Cinema.
To make it more interesting, the leading stars of Tollywood have now accumulated a new culture where they are travelling only in special charted flights.
The likes of Prabhas Mahesh Babu, Junior NTR, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan and others have made it habit to only fly around uncharted flights for film promotions and even shuttling for shoots.
But the sad part here is that the superstars are charging. These charted flights to the producers of their respective films, which is incurring huge, non-production costs for the investors.
The producers are certainly taking a huge deal of financial burden with this new culture in Tollywood pertaining to special flights. Like, for instance, when our stars are having to go to Mumbai, Chennai and other places for promotions, they are using charted flights that are being paid in full by the producers of their respective films.
While this might be an uninvited burden for the producers, they are happily paying the same because of the kind of returns our heroes are generating and theatres and on OTT.
At a time when our leading stars are marketing films with ₹400 to 500 crores. These bills pertaining to charted flights might not sound too big of a deal.
In the case of Kalki Devara, and now the second part of Pushpa, the theatrical returns are multiple times higher than the investments involved. This is prompting producers to spend lavishly on our heroes and their extracurricular non-production costs.
