As Chandra Babu assumes to office in Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada assumes so much of significance on the national front and national media. With Hyderabad as the state capital, other cities in the states are deprived of any big national events in the last 30 years. In the past, TDP founder, NT Rama Rao had held a National Front meeting there. Several national leaders such as V.P. Singh, Chandra Shekhar and Farooq Abdullah attended the event. It was the last national level meeting conducted there three decades ago.

And now Vijayawada is going to host a mega event now. Several National level leaders including 8 Union Minister and 8 Chief Ministers will be accomodated in the city. BJP Sernior leaders LK Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi are also coming. Actors Balakrishna, Pawan Kalyan, and Junior NTR are also expected. The entire city turned yellow with TDP flags and banners every where.
