Vijay Deverakonda’s Rumored Role in the Highly Anticipated ‘Kalki 2898 AD’

Fans of Vijay Deverakonda are eagerly awaiting his return to form after a string of films that failed to resonate at the box office. His last commercial success came with “Taxiwaala” in 2018, and subsequent projects like “Dear Comrade,” “World Famous Lover,” “Liger,” “Khushi,” and “Family Star” haven’t yielded the desired results.

The upcoming science fiction film “Kalki 2898 AD” has sparked excitement amongst fans, particularly due to speculation surrounding Deverakonda’s involvement. The film boasts a star-studded cast, with Prabhas confirmed to play the role of bounty hunter Bhairava, Amitabh Bachchan portraying Ashwatthama, and Deepika Padukone taking on the role of Kalki’s mother. Veteran actor Kamal Haasan will portray the enigmatic Supreme Yashkin, who wields power in this dystopian world. Actresses Disha Patani, Anna Ben, Sobhana, and Malavika Nair are also part of the ensemble cast.

While the makers have revealed details about these characters, they have remained tight-lipped about the role essayed by Deverakonda, known for his moniker “Rowdy Hero.” This secrecy has fueled speculation amongst fans, especially after a glimpse of an epic Kurukshetra battle scene appears in the film’s second trailer. Eagle-eyed viewers believe they spotted Deverakonda in this particular shot, potentially portraying the mythological warrior Arjuna.
