Prabhas to join Lokesh Cinematic Universe
Prabhas is expected to collaborate with prominent directors Lokesh Kanagaraj and Prasanth Varma, joining their respective cinematic universes. According to a report, an official announcement regarding this exciting partnership could be made soon.
If confirmed, Prabhas would become part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Cinematic Universe (LCU) and Prasanth Varma’s Cinematic Universe (PVCU). Lokesh’s LCU began with the release of Kaithi in 2019, featuring Karthi in the lead role. The universe expanded with Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan, and Leo, starring Thalapathy Vijay. Currently, Lokesh is working on Coolie with Rajinikanth, which stands as a unique project outside the LCU storyline. His next venture is expected to be Kaithi 2, reuniting him with Karthi.
Meanwhile, Prasanth Varma launched the PVCU with HanuMan, a mythological superhero film starring Teja Sajja, released earlier this year. The film’s conclusion hinted at a sequel titled Jai Hanuman, with Rishab Shetty set to portray Lord Hanuman. PVCU’s other projects include Adhira and Maha Kali, focusing on Hindu mythological themes.
With both cinematic universes growing in scope, Prabhas’s addition could significantly elevate the intrigue around these projects. Apart from these potential collaborations, Prabhas has other films lined up, such as The Raja Saab, a horror-comedy set for release in April 2024, along with Salaar 2, directed by Prashanth Neel, and Spirit by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
